asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of the year 1952 the number of indictable crimes known to the police, the number of persons proceeded against and the number of crimes with which such persons were charged.

Number of crimes in 1952 known to the Garda Síochána, 14,720; number of persons proceeded against, 6,803; number of crimes in which proceedings were taken, 7,203.
