Vol. 143 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grant for County Kerry Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of theimportance of the road leading through the Glen, Ballinskelligs, as a tourist amenity, he will consider its inclusion under the tourist road grant scheme.

The tourist road grant available to County Kerry for 1953-54 has already been allocated to specific works. It would be open to the road authority to make a case for the improvement of the road referred to by the Deputy under any moneys which may be available in future years for tourist roads, but any such case would have to be considered on the basis of the relative claims to priority of this road and other tourist roads in the county.
