Dáil Éireann debate -
Tuesday, 1 Dec 1953

Vol. 143 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Six-County Representation in Dáil.

asked the Taoiseach if, in view of recent events in the Six Counties, he will have the Government reconsider its decision on the question of the admission of elected representatives of the Six Counties to Dáil Éireann or alternatively, if he will leave the question of such admission to a free vote of Dáil Éireann.

A motion on the matter referred to in the Deputy's question was debated in this House on the 19th July, 1951, and defeated. Nothing has happened since then to change the fundamental considerations on which the Government's decision to oppose the motion was based.
