Vol. 143 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Land Acquisition.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Castlecranna, Nenagh, County Tipperary; and, if so, if he will state when it is proposed to have those lands distributed so as to bring the adjoining small holdings up to an economic standard.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in regard to the taking over of the Slattery land at Castlecranna, Nenagh, County Tipperary, for divivision amongst the landless men and uneconomic holders of that area.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to reply to Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of an area of 207 acres in Castlecranna. The owner has objected to the price fixed by the Land Commission and his appeal is now before the Appeal Tribunal.
