Committee on Finance. - Increased Social Welfare Benefits —Motion.

I formally move the motion standing in the name of Deputy Larkin, Deputy Kyne and myself:—

That Dáil Éireann is opinion that, in view of the high cost of living, the following benefits under the Social Welfare Act, 1952, shouldbe substantially increased, i.e., old age pensions, widows' and orphans' pensions, blind pensions, unemploymentbenefit, unemployment assistance, sickness benefit.
