During the period, January-October, 1953, imports of sugar were: (a) unrefined, 60,410 tons, and (b) refined, 37,790 tons. As to part (c) of the question, it is not the practice to disclose confidential information about the internal affairs of an individual concern. No reliable estimate can be made at this stage as to the quantities of sugar which may require to be imported in 1954.
