Vol. 143 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - District Nurses' Travel Allowances.

asked the Minister for Health whether he will now indicate his decision in connection with the proposal by the Waterford Board of Public Assistance to pay a travelling allowance bonus of £50 to district maternity nurses employed by the board.

As already indicated in my reply to the Deputy on the 5th November, 1952, the question of the conditions of employment of midwives in the local authority service is being considered in conjunction with the revision of the health services generally. I will not be in a position to give a final decision in the matter for some time.
