Vol. 143 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Stations in County Wexford.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of Garda stations in County Wexford; and, further, if he will state the number which need to be replaced by new stations.

Mr. Boland

There are 30 Garda stations in County Wexford and at nine of them the accommodation provided is below standard requirements. One of them, the station at Enniscorthy, requires to be replaced urgently and the necessary action with a view to the erection of a new station is being taken. The remaining stations will be replaced when more urgent cases have been completed.

Is the Minister aware that, apart from the condition of the Enniscorthy station, which is very bad, the stations situate at Courtown Harbour, Carrig-on-Bannow and Clonroche need to be looked into?

Mr. Boland

I have the list here. These are included and will be dealt with as soon as we can.

In the meantime, would the Minister look into these three cases particularly?
