Vol. 143 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Moquette Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the incapacity of the home manufacturers to supply moquette, he will permit the import of this commodity to enable the consumer to get cheaper furniture.

I am not aware of any incapacity on the part of the home manufacturers to supply moquette. Imports of moquette will, however, continue to be permitted to the extent, if any, to which the home manufacturers are unable to meet the full home requirements.
