Vol. 143 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air Corps Defence Regulations.

asked the Minister for Defence whether, with reference to his reply to my question, as shown in Official Report of Dáil Debates, Volume 142, column 28, he will state (1) if it is a fact that, by reason of the channels of communication laid down in Defence Regulations, the Officer Commanding Army Air Corps, became aware before he, the Minister, did of the breach of regulations whereby a senior officer subordinate to the Officer Commanding Army Air Corps, denied to a junior officer his right of complaint to a higher authority; and, if so, if he will state why it was necessary for him, the Minister, to bring this breach of regulations to the notice of the Officer Commanding Army Air Corps, before appropriate action was taken by the latter; (2) whether the failure of the Officer Commanding Army Air Corps, to act upon his own initiative in taking appropriate action in this matter was a breach of Defence Force Regulations, and (3) whether the Minister has taken any action in this regard.

As I intimated to the Deputy on the 4th November, 1953, I cannot see how the public interest would be served in supplying information on matters which are questions of internal Army administration.

Are we to understand that action has been taken.

All appropriate action has been taken.
