Vol. 143 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fish Imports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state (1) the quantity in cwts. of kippers, smoked and filleted fish, pickled herrings and demersal fish imported into the Republic for the nine months ended 30th September, 1952, and (2) the quantity in cwts. of tinned salmon, sardines, herring and other fish imported in cans in respect of the same period and if he will give separate figures for each variety imported.

Statistics of imports are compiled according to the Official Import List, which does not provide details of the particular varieties of fish asked for by the Deputy. However, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I intend to circulate in the Official Report details of imports of fish judged relevant to the Deputy's question according to the Official Import List.
