Vol. 143 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killarney Postal Carriers.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will give an assurance that in any reorganisation of postal deliveries in the Killarney area due consideration will be given to the position of mail car contractors who might be in danger of losing their means of livelihood, and that these employees will be given alternative work in any future scheme.

Sympathetic consideration is always given to the position of mail car contractors affected by revisions of postal services but it is not always possible to provide displacedcontractors with alternative work under the revised arrangements.
