Vol. 143 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Atomic Research.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has seen a report in the Press to the effect that atom bomb mineral has been discovered in Ireland; and, if so, whether it is proposed to employ scientists with a view to the development of this matter; what funds he proposes to make available, if any, for research in this connection, and if the Government has interviewed the discoverer of this material.

I have seen this newspaper report. The answer to the rest of the question is in the negative.

Does the Minister propose to make inquiries to ascertain whether there is any accuracy in the newspaper report or not?
