Vol. 144 No. 1

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - National Health Insurance Medical Examination.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if, in view of the fact that Church holydays are observed as public holidays in County Wexford, he will so arrange it that national health insurance claimants are not called for medical examination on those days.

As the itineraries for the medical referees are arranged to cover a full week's work at different centres, it would seriously interfere with the work of the referees not to hold sessions on Church holydays and it is, therefore, not intended to make any alteration in the present arrangements.

Surely the referee could avoid County Wexford on Church holydays?
