Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post Office Employees' Working Hours.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the number of (1) cleaners; (2) auxiliary postmen, and (3) night and Sunday telephone attendants who are employed (a) under 20 hours per week; (b) 20 hours, but less than 25 hours; (c) 25 hours, but less than 30 hours, and (d) 30 hours and over.

The information requested in this question is given in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be published in the Official Report.

In the case of cleaners and auxiliary postmen with varying hours of employment in winter and summer, the average for the year has been taken.

Six cleaners in categories (a) to (c) are employed in winter only; 116 cleaners in category (d) are engaged on full-time duties during the whole of the year.
