Vol. 144 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Barrack Gas Supply.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will use his good offices to have a gas supply installed for domestic purposes in the married quarters at Collins Barracks, Cork.

An application was recently submitted by the occupants of married quarters, Collins Barracks, Cork, for the installation of a gas supply for domestic purposes in those quarters. The Cork Gas Consumers' Company has indicated the terms on which it would be prepared to make the supply available and these are at present under consideration.

In view of the difficulty that exists in connection with domestic cooking in the married quarters in these barracks will the Minister give the matter sympathetic consideration?

We are doing that. The Deputy will understand that contracts have to be made with the tenants. The matter is under consideration.
