asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of the beginning of 1954 the index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district for the following groups:—(a) industrial; (b) services; (c) transport, and (d) all groups.

The index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district at the rates in operation on 1st January, 1954, were (to base January, 1939=100) (a) industrial: 208.9; (b) services: 209.8; (c) transport: 217.7; (d) all groups: 210.8.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of the beginning of 1954 the index numbers of (a) hourly wage rates in 23 industrial occupations and (b) earnings in transport.

The index number of hourly weekly wage rates in industrial occupations as at the beginning of January, 1954 (to base 1939=100) was 209.7. The index number of weekly earnings in transport at that period is not yet available.
