Vol. 146 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bantry Central Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state when it is proposed to commence work on the erection of the central hospital, Bantry.

Working drawings for the building work on this project were received in my Department on 1st June and are at present being examined. I understand that the working drawings for the mechanical and electrical services are at present being prepared by the local authority's consulting engineer.

The remaining contract documents, including the bills of quantities, will be prepared as soon as the working drawings are approved. It is difficult to say at the moment when work on the project is likely to commence, but every effort will be made in my Department to reach as soon as possible the stage when tenders for the work can be invited.
