Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Interest and Sinking Funds Payments.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total amount payable and paid in interest and sinking funds in (a) the financial year 1947-48, and (b) the financial year 1952-53.

The amounts paid in 1947-48 and in 1952-53 for the service of the public debt were as follows:—

These figures include the State contributions towards housing loan charges of local authorities which have been allocated approximately as between interest and sinking fund.
