Vol. 146 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dumping of Goods.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will ensure that no dumping of goods, which would adversely affect employment in the clothing factories in Limerck City, will be allowed.

I have had no representations that dumping of goods is likely to affect adversely employment in clothing factories in Limerick City or elsewhere. I may perhaps remind the Deputy that this industry is protected by substantial customs duties and, in the case of some products, quantitative restriction of imports. If evidence of dumping is furnished to me I will have it investigated without delay.
