Vol. 146 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Housing Contract.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the date on which tenders were submitted to his Department for the carrying out of a housing scheme at Dingle, County Kerry; and if he will further state the reason for delay in sanctioning this work.

A proposal to accept a tender for a scheme of 25 houses at Dingle was received in my Department from Kerry County Council on 24th December, 1953. It appeared that certain important points affecting the tenders had not been adverted to by the housing authority when considering the matter. The attention of the council was drawn to these points by letter of 25th January, 1954, and their comments and reconsidered proposals were requested. These have been received in the Department only on the 13th instant and are at present being examined. There will be no delay on the part of the Department in dealing with the matter.
