asked the Minister for Health if he will state the location of hospitals and sanatoria begun and completed within the periods (i) 1932-1948, (ii) 1948-1951, and (iii) 1951-1954; and if he will state the location of hospitals and sanatoria not completed but at present in the course of construction, and also the location of hospital projects under consideration for sanction by his Department; further, if he will give similar details in respect of extension and/or reconstruction of existing hospitals.

As the answer is in the form of lengthy lists I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate the lists for inclusion in the Report.
Owing to the considerable amount of work which would be involved full details have not been given in regard to extensions and/or reconstruction of existing hospitals as one or more minor schemes have been carried out in practically every hospital in the country over the periods covered in the question. Details have, however, been given of a selection of large-scale extension or reconstruction works.
I have at present under consideration a further hospital building programme but until I have fully considered the matter I would not be in a position to give the details requested by the Deputy.
