Vol. 147 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dursey Island Families.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the urgent necessity for migrating ten families from Dursey Island; and, if so, if he will take steps to ensure that migration takes place as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when it is hoped to give exchange holdings to applicants from Dursey Island.

I propose, with the Ceann Comhairle's permission, to take Questions Nos. 25 and 26 together.

The Land Commission have recently obtained detailed reports on every holding in Dursey and are examining them with a view to finding some means of improving the conditions of the islanders.

The migration of further families to the mainland will be fully considered since it offers one possibility of improving the lot of the islanders.
