I presume that the Deputy has in mind officers of the Reserve of Officers—First Line.
As the Deputy is no doubt aware, the present policy is that promotions of such officers are not made beyond the rank of lieutenant while the personnel concerned are not on permanent service. I regret that I cannot hold out any hope of any alteration in that policy.
