Vol. 147 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roads in Caherciveen.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether proposals for the improvement of certain roads and footpaths in, and in the immediate vicinity of, Caherciveen town have been submitted to his Department; and if he will have adequate financial provision made for these improvements, which are urgently required.

Proposals for the improvement of concrete footpaths in Caherciveen at an estimated cost of £330 were received in my Department from Kerry County Council a few days ago and are at present being examined. An allocation of £7,000 from the Employment and Emergency Schemes Vote has already been notified to the Kerry County Council for the current financial year. If the Caherciveen proposals are found to be in order the council will be authorised to defray their cost from the grant allocation and the appropriate local contribution.
