Vol. 147 No. 5

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Skibbereen Industry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in regard to the new industry about to be started in Skibbereen, he will state: (a) the total capital invested or proposed to be invested, (b) the amount of the State grant which it is proposed to make, (c) the items which it is proposed to manufacture, and (d) the anticipated employment content.

It is not the practice to publish information regarding industrial proposals from private interests, as such proposals must be treated as confidential. Accordingly, I am unable to give the information requested by the Deputy at (a), (c) and (d) of the question. With regard to (b) if a grant is made by An Foras Tionscal particulars will appear in that body's annual report. I think it would be undesirable to ask An Foras Tionscal to supply detailed particulars of its operations in advance of the submission of the annual report to the Oireachtas.
