Vol. 147 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Howth Harbour Survey.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when the survey for the dredging of Howth Harbour was made, and whether, in view of the fact that this harbour is badly silted and fishing boats are having difficulty in entering it, when the tide is low, he will arrange to have dredging operations carried out at an early date.

A sounding survey of Howth Harbour was made in March and April, 1954. I am not aware that boats have difficulty in entering the harbour, but it is proposed to carry out a certain amount of dredging as soon as a suitable vessel is available, probably in a few months' time.
