Vol. 147 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fógra Fáilte Tour.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the West of Ireland was not visited in the course of a recent tour of Irish resorts by foreign travel agents, which was conducted by Fógra Fáilte, and, if so, if he will request that body to ensure that the West of Ireland is included in the itinerary of similar tours in future.

This tour was arranged by Fógra Fáilte in discharge of its function of publicising Irish tourist attractions and I do not intervene in detailed administration of this kind.

I am informed, however, that Fógra Fáilte is fully alive to the claims of the West of Ireland in connection with the organisation of tours of this kind and will include that area in the itinerary of these tours where possible.
