Vol. 147 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Suir Drainage.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state if he will have the river Suir surveyed with a view to removing heavy obstructions such as fallen trees, etc., therefrom; and further, when arterial drainage operations on this river are likely to commence.

Works of the nature referred to would fall to be undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works only as part of a comprehensive drainage scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. I cannot give any indication as to when a survey of the river for the purpose of that Act can be undertaken.
