Vol. 147 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state how many families in the Waterford City area reside in one room, and the number in each family; further, if the medical officer of health has investigated the conditions of each of the families, and, if so, if he will indicate the terms of the report in the case of a family from Ballytruckle and ascertain when this man, who lives with his wife, five children and the grandfather and grandmother of the children in one room, will be allocated suitable accommodation.

The information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. I have noted the case mentioned by the Deputy amongst those about which he has sent me some correspondence.

Did the Minister ask for the information from the county manager?

As the Deputy is aware, he has sent me a number of complaints, all of which are being investigated. On the whole, however, I have not asked for information from the county manager on any particular one.

Is the Minister taking this one with all the rest?
