Vol. 147 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Service Arbitration Award.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether he hopes to be able before Christmas to fulfil the Government's promise in regard to the payment of arrears due to State employees on foot of the Civil Service arbitration award, which was repudiated by the previous Government.

As the Deputy has no doubt observed from to-day's Order Paper leave is being sought to introduce an Estimate to provide for payment of the balance outstanding on foot of the Civil Service Arbitration Board's report of 18th November, 1952.

Mr. Lemass

Is the Minister aware of the offensive and tendentious form in which the question was allowed on the Order Paper?

The Deputy's conscience must be pricking him.

It certainly is not. What about the Milk Tribunal report? Is there any report on it?
