City and County Management (Amendment) Bill, 1954—First Stage.
Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Acts relating to the management of county boroughs, counties and certain other areas and to provide for related matters.—(Minister for Local Government.)

The Minister is aware, of course, that this Bill may have some relation to the coming municipal elections and if there is likely to be a postponement or a desire for a postponement of the elections pending the passage of this Bill we would want to know about it.
Perhaps the Deputy will bear that in mind when we come to discuss the remaining stages of the Local Government Bill this evening.
