asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether sums of £1,000,000 and £100,000 were allotted on 27th November, 1953, from the National Development Fund to the Road Fund, and to the programme under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, respectively, for the financial year 1953-54, and £1,900,000 on 25th May, 1954, from the National Development Fund to the Road Fund for the financial year 1954-55.

In respect of the financial year 1953-54, allocations as stated in the Deputy's question were made from the National Development Fund. For 1954-55, the effective allocation from that fund to the Road Fund, as determined by me, was £1,500,000.
