Vol. 147 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford: Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the E.S.B. propose to extend rural electrification to the districts of Villierstown, Aglish and Clashmore, County Waterford.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Clashmore area, County Waterford, which includes Villierstown and Aglish, has been considered by them on a number of occasions for development under the rural electrification scheme but that it has not so far been selected as its returns have not compared favourably with those of other areas still awaiting development in the board's Waterford district. The selection of the area will be considered again by the board but I am not in a position to state when the development of the area is likely to take place.
