Vol. 148 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Car Exports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the number of cars exported, under licence (i) to Great Britain, and (ii) elsewhere, during each year since 1950.

The number of motor cars exported under licence was 50 to Britain and 234 elsewhere in the year 1950; 31 to Britain and 164 elsewhere in 1951; and 34 to Britain and 200 elsewhere in 1952. Motor cars were removed from export control in 1953 with effect from 21st October: the number exported under licence in that year up to 30th September was 226 to Britain and 328 elsewhere.
