Vol. 148 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Insemination Station.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether it is proposed to proceed with the establishment of an insemination station in the Sligo area.

That has been the intention, as part of a project covering the north-western counties generally, with particular regard to the need for combating serious bovine infertility in some districts in those counties.

While there has been a very considerable volume of agreement locally with the project, some local interests have felt unable to give it their support. I am considering how best the differences that have arisen can be reconciled.
