Vol. 148 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is hoped to commence work on the proposed extension of the water supply from St. Johnston to Carrigans, County Donegal.

It is not possible at this stage to give any indication when work may commence on this scheme. As was stated in reply to the Deputy's question of 1st July last, the provision of a water supply for Carrigans based on an extension of the St. Johnston scheme and some auxiliary source of supply has been approved in principle. The question of the auxiliary source to be selected and the lands and rights to be acquired have yet to be decided by the county council. An indication of their intentions is awaited.
