asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state, in respect of the land rehabilitation scheme, the number of applications from the electoral area of East Limerick at present awaiting attention in his Department, and the cause of the delay in dealing with these applications.

As to the first part of the question, statistical returns in regard to land project operations are furnished quarterly for the information of members of the Oireachtas. As has already been indicated in replies to previous similar questions, the provision of special statistical data other than as given in the quarterly returns would entail a volume of work on the part of the land project staff which would not be justified. As to the second part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to a similar question by Deputy Giles on 1st December, 1954.
