Vol. 148 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tariff Protection.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a firm, which enjoys the benefit of tariff protection in the assembly of Morris motor cars, actively seeks to prevent and hinder the export of such cars assembled by them in this country, and has on a number of occasions refused to issue to the purchasers of such cars certificates of origin required from them for export purposes, and, if so, if he will take the matter up with the firm concerned.

Complaints of the kind referred to have been brought to my notice and are at present under investigation.
