Vol. 148 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minister's Personal Assistant.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state, in regard to his personal assistant, (i) the precise nature of his duties, (ii) the point in his salary scale at which he entered the Civil Service, and (iii) his present salary.

The officer in question performs such duties as I may assign to him from time to time, in addition to the duties generally performed by persons in similar positions in former Governments. The officer also assists on legal matters relating to the Office of the Minister for Justice. The point at which he entered his salary scale was four increments above the minimum of the scale. He now has a salary of £640 plus an allowance of £100 a year.
