As regards the second part in so far as the applications enumerated above come within the purview of the Athlone relief committee their claims have been investigated by that committee which I appointed last January to assist me in alleviating actual dire distress in the abnormally flooded areas of the Shannon valley. The committee have in fact surveyed, and reported on, some 2,200 holdings in that area. A general survey had previously been made of all affected areas without reference to any particular holdings. Applications for interest free loans have been referred for consideration to the Agricultural Credit Corporation.

As regards the third part, the relief committee expect to complete their work within the next few weeks. The applications for loans are being dealt with as expeditiously as possible by the Agricultural Credit Corporation.
