Vol. 148 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Elections Date.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is yet in a position to state the approximate date of the local elections in 1955.

The local elections will be held in the period from 23rd June to 1st July, 1955, inclusive, on dates to be fixed by county and county borough councils.

Would the Minister not consider it advisable to fix one day to suit all the local bodies in the country?

And the general election, too.

That could probably be done at a later date.

Is Deputy Blaney tired of being in this House?
