Vol. 149 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Afforestation.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Forestry Division have under consideration the establishment of a forest at Clohanmore, Cree, County Clare.

Agreement has been reached for the purchase of 110 acres at Clohanmore and investigation of title is in progress.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position regarding the reafforestation scheme for Long Woman's Grave, Omeath, County Louth, and give an assurance that the scheme will be put into operation without further delay.

Areas totalling approximately 580 acres in the vicinity of the Long Woman's Grave have been inspected and valued for forestry purposes. The areas on offer are mainly commonages and title difficulties are likely to present serious obstacles to the acquisition of the lands in question. Methods of overcoming these difficulties are at present under examination.
