Vol. 149 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity for Smallholders.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will request the E.S.B. to make their services available to the smallholders in Rhebogue, Limerick City.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that, in the case of the householders referred to, a contribution towards the capital cost of extension is necessary to render supply economic. Under statute the fixing of charges for the supply of electricity is a matter solely for the E.S.B. I cannot, therefore, intervene in the matter.
