Vol. 149 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parish Plan.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, with a view to creating a co-operative approach to agricultural problems, he will convene special meetings of county committees of agriculture at which both he and the chairman of the executive committee of Muintir na Tíre will attend to explain the objects of the parish plan.

Pressure of work has not as yet permitted me to undertake special visits to the county committees of agriculture. Meanwhile, however, the county committees of agriculture and the local Muintir na Tíre groups in whose areas are situated the first three units selected for the parish plan are in close touch with the technical officer of my Department who is doing the essential preliminary work of local survey and organisation. In the course of this work meetings are held in these areas to explain and discuss the plan.
