asked the Minister for Education what is the present position in regard to the proposal to build a new boys' and girls' national school at Abbeyside, Dungarvan, and when tenders will be invited.

I am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that the approval of the Dungarvan Urban District Council to the plans for the proposed new boys' and girls' national schools at Abbeyside, Dungarvan, has been obtained.

A quantity surveyor has now been appointed by the commissioners to prepare bills of quantities. When these are completed the commissioners will arrange as expeditiously as possible for the invitation of tenders.

It is proposed shortly to authorise the preparation of working drawings and specification for the proposed vocational school at Carrickmacross, but it cannot at this stage be stated when actual building operations thereon will be commenced.
