Vol. 149 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Rail Transport.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether C.I.E. propose to replace the present outmoded engines and carriages on the Kenmare-Headford and Cahirciveen-Farranfore branch lines by a diesel service or up-to-date engines and carriages.

The question of the replacement of the present engines and carriages on the Kenmare-Headford and Cahirciveen-Farranfore branch lines is one for C.I.E. Accordingly any representations the Deputy may have to make in the matter should be made direct to C.I.E.

Could not the Parliamentary Secretary find out if it is possible that within this year the new service will be brought into operation?

I am sure it will be brought in in the next few years at least.

Few years?
