Vol. 150 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of School Meals.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that the Dublin Corporation propose to make a drastic reduction in the amount allotted in their estimates for the provision of school meals, and, if so, if he will state how this reduction is to be effected.

I have seen a statement in the Press that the estimates committee of Dublin Corporation have recommended a reduction in the amount to be expended on school meals during the current financial year. This recommendation is, however, to be considered by the corporation at its meeting to be held on the 4th May, and I suggest that it is premature to raise the matter at this stage.
