I am giving the representations I have had from the Prison Officers' Association upon this subject the most sympathetic consideration and I hope that I will shortly be able to inform the Deputy that a decision has been reached.
The Minister gave me the same reply last July. Surely we have reached the stage when concrete steps should have been taken towards providing these uniforms?
There are many other considerations that have to be gone into in connection with the matter.
