Vol. 150 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Midwives' Allowances.

asked the Minister for Health whether a decision has yet been reached in regard to the proposal to grant an allowance to midwives similar to that granted to doctors under the Health Act, 1953, and, if so, the nature of such decision.

As I explained to the Deputy in reply to his previous question on 10th February, it is necessary to consider this question in conjunction with the extension of maternity services to additional classes and some time will elapse before I am in a position to make a full statement in the matter.
